About the role

As a full-service visual communications company, Vomela is looking for creative and intellectual thinkers who collaborate with customers to create compelling brand solutions and build meaningful connections. The Compensation Advisor serves as the organization’s subject matter expert for Total Rewards programs—including compensation, recognition, wellness, and pay governance—designing, administering, evaluating, and continuously improving programs that are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Total Rewards Strategy & Leadership
    • Serve as the primary subject-matter expert for compensation, incentives, recognition, and wellness programs.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy aligned with business objectives and talent priorities.
    • Evaluate market trends, industry practices, and competitive data to ensure programs remain effective and competitive.
    • Recommend enhancements and investments to executive leadership.
    • Partner with HR to support attraction, retention, engagement, and workforce planning initiatives.
    • Design and maintain a Total Rewards philosophy grounded in pay-for-performance and internal equity.
  • Compensation Program Management
    • Develop and manage company-wide compensation programs, salary structures, pay grades, and governance practices.
    • Own and maintain job architecture and job evaluation methodology.
    • Conduct market pricing analyses and salary benchmarking using multiple survey sources.
    • Lead annual compensation planning processes (merit increases, market adjustments, promotional increases, incentives).
    • Consult with managers and HR Business Partners on compensation decisions and pay practices.
    • Support labor market analysis by location or segment.
    • Analyze internal pay equity and recommend corrective actions.
    • Develop compensation recommendations for key and critical talent positions.
    • Support executive and leadership compensation analyses.
    • Monitor compensation trends and recommend program improvements.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Support administration of health, welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs.
    • Assist with annual open enrollment planning, communication, and execution.
    • Evaluate benefit utilization trends and recommend program optimizations.
    • Assist with annual benefits renewal and budgeting processes.
    • Support employee wellness initiatives and health management programs.
  • Recognition & Employee Experience
    • Manage and continuously improve employee recognition and rewards programs.
    • Develop strategies that strengthen engagement through Total Rewards offerings.
    • Create and deliver educational materials that improve employees’ understanding of their Total Rewards package.
    • Design and distribute annual Total Rewards statements.
    • Partner with HR leadership on retention and engagement initiatives.
  • Analytics & Reporting
    • Develop dashboards and reports on compensation, benefits, turnover, retention, and workforce trends.
    • Analyze Total Rewards data to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends.
    • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for leadership review.
    • Provide cost modeling and financial impact analyses for proposed program changes.
    • Support workforce planning with market and compensation insights.
  • Compliance & Governance
    • Ensure compliance with FLSA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, AAP, pay transparency, equal pay, and retirement plan regulations.
    • Support compensation and benefits audits.
    • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation.
    • Ensure consistent application of compensation policies across the organization.
  • HR Systems & Process Improvement
    • Serve as the functional owner of compensation and benefits data within HR systems.
    • Ensure data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms.
    • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and employee experience.
    • Partner with Payroll and HR Operations to ensure accurate compensation and benefits administration.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience
    • 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, or Total Rewards.
    • Demonstrated experience managing Total Rewards programs across an entire organization.
    • Experience designing and administering compensation structures, salary administration programs, and incentive plans.
    • Experience leading annual compensation review cycles.
    • Experience working directly with benefits brokers, carriers, and third-party vendors.
    • Experience supporting multi-site and/or manufacturing environments preferred.
    • Experience utilizing HRIS and data analytics tools.

Pay Range: $100 – $125,000 USD annually

Location: Onsite role in St. Paul, MN
