Compassionate Skilled In-Home Caregiver for Summerville area

About the role

Visiting Angels, America’s Choice in Homecare, is looking for dependable and compassionate caregivers and CNAs to provide one-on-one, non-medical care to seniors in Summerville and surrounding areas (Dorchester, Berkeley, and Charleston Counties). Caregivers help seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Help with ambulation, mobility, and transfers
• Provide medication reminders
• Prepare light meals according to dietary needs
• Provide transportation to appointments, pharmacies, stores, and outings
• Complete light housekeeping related to client care
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Follow care plans and health and safety guidelines
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition to the office

Requirements

• One year of professional in-home caregiving experience preferred
• CNA, PCA, HHA, or experienced caregiver background welcome
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance
• Dependable transportation and ability to travel to client homes
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Compassionate, respectful, patient, and dependable
• Ability to work independently and follow individualized care plans
• Ability to remain calm in unexpected or emergency situations
• Must pass required background and drug screening

Additional Experience (Preferred)

• Experience with equipment such as Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, transfer benches, and walkers
• CPR certification preferred

Pay

$14–$16 per hour based on experience and qualifications

• Full‑time hours may be available depending on client needs and assignments; full‑time hours are not guaranteed
