About the role

Animal Clinic of Milford is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their dedicated, family-focused team. Located in Milford, Connecticut, they provide compassionate, comprehensive veterinary care for various pets.

Responsibilities

• Treatment and care of animals under the supervision of licensed veterinarians
• Performing routine and complex medical procedures
• Assisting in surgical operations
• Providing preventive care and vaccinations
• Conducting diagnostic tests and interpreting results
• Communicating with clients about pet health and treatment plans
• Collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Participating in continuing education and professional development

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Connecticut
• At least one year of clinical experience in a veterinary setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for providing compassionate care to pets and their owners

Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Effective leadership and mentorship abilities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Skills

• Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
• Experience with common veterinary procedures and medications

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Clinic hours are Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Sunday: Closed.
