Companion Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels of Webster Groves is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults in the local area, including Chesterfield, Webster Groves, Maryland Heights, Eureka, Fenton, Ellisville, Ballwin, and surrounding communities. This role involves helping elderly and home-care clients maintain their independence and dignity while living at home.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Manage light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Assist with grocery shopping and meal planning/preparation based on client ability
• Support clients with mobility and ambulation, including doctor visits and walks
• Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
