Companion Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels of Claremont is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults in the Upper Connecticut River Valley area, including Lebanon NH, Claremont NH, Hanover NH, Battleboro VT, and surrounding communities.

Pay

$18.00–$22.00/hour based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Manage light housekeeping
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Assist with shopping and grocery management
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients
• Support mobility and ambulation, including doctor visits and walks
• Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals seeking companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
