About the Role
Visiting Angels of Richardson is seeking compassionate Companion Caregivers to support senior adults in staying at home or recovering with dignity. Caregivers provide a blend of companionship, assistance with daily activities, and quick response to medical emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Manage light housekeeping tasks.
- Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
- Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the correct times.
- Assist with shopping, unpacking groceries, or shop on behalf of clients.
- Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, respecting their abilities.
- Support client mobility and ambulation, including house navigation, doctor visits, and walks.
- Respond quickly to medical emergencies and accurately report health changes or unusual circumstances.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving experience.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Reliable transportation for client visits.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
- A genuine heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
- Willingness to comply with state and office‑specific health and safety standards.
