Companion Caregiver

About the Role

Visiting Angels of Paris is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults in maintaining their independence and quality of life in their homes. Our caregivers provide essential assistance and companionship to clients throughout the local area, including Bonham, Sulfur Springs, Paris, Greenville, Texarkana, and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take prescription medications on time
• Assisting with shopping and putting away groceries
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients
• Assisting with mobility and ambulation, including transportation to appointments and walks
• Acting quickly in medical emergencies and reporting health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals and a commitment to meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
