About the role
Blankenship Equipment Repair is a compacting and recycling business serving the Pacific Northwest and Canada. We are growing and have an opening for a compactor/baler technician.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on compactors and balers
- Install and repair hydraulic systems
- Use electrical components such as solenoid valves, switches, relays, electric motors, and multimeters
- Break down and assemble machinery
- Use hand tools and perform welding/cutting/fabrication tasks including SMAW, GMAW, oxy/acetylene heating and cutting, plasma cutting, and grinding
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Pass background check
Qualifications
While not required, candidates should have experience in:
- Hydraulic systems, including hoses and fittings
- Electrical systems, including diagrams, switches, relays, electric motors, and multimeters
- Mechanical aptitude, including breakdown and assembly
- Welding/cutting/fabrication, including SMAW, GMAW, oxy/acetylene heating and cutting, plasma cutting, and grinding
Skills
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Confident in welding/cutting/fabrication skills
Benefits
- 40-Hours Vacation after 6-months. 80-Hours after one full year with incremental annual increases up to 4-weeks.
