Como viver para sempre?

Personal Reflection

My great-grandmother passed away several years ago, and it was unexpected given that she had no health issues at the time. I have fond memories of our time together, which lasted for 25 years. I frequently visited her home, we went on trips together, and we created many special memories. She shared many stories from her life, always caring for me with immense love. Even after moving to another city, we would talk almost every week on the phone. As she grew older, the calls became less frequent because she wanted to speak less. Despite this, our bond remained strong. Although sad about her passing, I learned an important lesson: it is essential to create and cherish the opportunities life offers to be present in the lives of those we love. Physical presence may not always be possible, but the connection remains alive within us. My great-grandmother will forever be a part of my life: she lives in my memories and those of my family. I will surely tell her story to my future children. Her life has marked mine in numerous ways!

Often, I find myself immersed in daily problems, professional activities, and distractions that add nothing to my life. I tend to forget that life should be more than just these aspects – it should have higher purposes. While managing my household, working, and enjoying myself are important, life itself is fleeting, and many of these things are transient. Therefore, it is necessary to balance my activities to cultivate what is permanent: affection, joyful moments, doing good, nurturing friendships, and strengthening familial bonds. It is also essential to acquire superior knowledge that helps me become a better human being through a process of self-improvement. Thinking about what is permanent gives new meaning to my life. One thing I have learned from Logosophy – and which has helped me in the effort to dedicate myself to what is imperishable – is to place problems within life, rather than life within problems. Giving problems their true size helps me find solutions more quickly and direct my time towards what truly matters.

If I had not created emotional connections with my great-grandmother, taken advantage of the opportunities to enjoy her presence, and learned from her virtues, she would not be so vividly remembered in my recollections, and I would have thought I should have worked harder to make the most of our time together. Today, I strive to do the same with my grandparents, other relatives, and friends. The more I share my life with them, the more my own life expands, and they live on in my memories.
