Community Therapy Lead Senior Living
About the Role
This role is based in an Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care setting. The Community Therapy Lead (CTL) is responsible for managing and supervising the rehabilitation department to meet resident needs, the company’s fiscal requirements, and federal and state regulations in conjunction with the Senior Director of Rehab and/or Regional Director of Operations. The CTL will achieve specific Resident care, Team Member relations, customer service, and financial objectives through strong leadership and effective partnership with customers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall therapy, wellness, and fitness advocacy within the community, driving meaningful and measurable outcomes.
- Assign Resident scheduling and other responsibilities to staff as needed.
- Manage, orient, train, evaluate, and counsel department Team Members to improve job performance and maintain high standards of performance and patient quality care, in conjunction with the Senior DOR and/or Regional Director of Operations.
- Ensure compliance with Reliant Rehabilitation and community-specific policies and procedures for the department.
- Ensure therapists and therapy assistants are compliant with documentation in the medical record that is accurate, concise, meets governmental and third-party payor requirements, minimizes duplication, and reflects resident status and outcomes.
- Communicate and coordinate department functions with other services to promote team rapport and effectiveness.
- Communicate effectively with community leadership regarding department programs, goals, objectives, risks, and successes.
- Communicate therapy services offered by Reliant Rehabilitation to the public, including medical personnel.
- Participate in resident care coordination, department head meetings, and community education and planning.
- Responsible for revenue and expense controls to meet budgetary requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of services and completion of required documentation while maintaining quality of services.
- Enhance clinical expertise, professional, and management skills through interaction with managers, therapists, self-study, and continuing education activities.
- Maintain valid state license (where appropriate).
- Maintain awareness of issues related to the rehabilitation and senior living profession.
- Comply with infection control procedures and environmental safety protocol within a community.
- Perform patient lifting using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the workday; must be capable of lifting thirty (30) pounds of dead weight alone.
- Maintain confidentiality of Reliant Rehab, community, and patient information.
- Travel between communities during scheduled hours as needed.
- Work varying hours and shifts.
- Comply with the position description for the discipline of current license.
- Conduct self in an ethical, legal, and responsible manner at all times.
- Attend all mandatory meetings, trainings, and assignments as delegated.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Adhere to the policies, principles, and guidance within the Employee Handbook and Code of Business Conduct.
Requirements
- Must possess a degree in therapy from an accredited school.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred.
- One (1) year of management experience is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing.
- Thorough knowledge of state practice acts.
- Must hold a current and active license as one of the following: Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises the work of others in the community to include training, scheduling, coaching, resolving issues, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with discipline in partnership with the Sr. DOR/RDO.
