Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with community organizations and HCS partners
  • Works to provide support and referral services to immigrant children and youth, migrant children, and families with limited English proficiency
  • Works in conjunction with HCS Community and Family Partnership Specialists to coordinate services and resources for families of immigrant children and youth, migrant students and families, and families with limited English proficiency through community partners, in collaboration and in alignment with community schools framework
  • Manages all enrollment for migratory children as the migrant liaison and ensures their data is accurate in the migrant system
  • Develops and maintains business, community, non-profit and faith-based partnerships in order to provide both academic and social emotional support services for students, families, guardians, and ESOL educators
  • Implements department programs or initiatives designed to provide wrap-around support for students and families
  • Collaborates and coordinates services with schools, various central office departments, and community partners to provide cohesive support for all English learners to improve student growth and achievement
  • Develops and implements budget as assigned; monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget
  • Sets up additional funding opportunities through grant writing, private and government funds
  • Sets up a translator certification program for multilingual high school students
  • Provides translation services as needed
  • Provides courteous and efficient customer service to our schools and families to best support community involvement
  • Serves as a role model and demonstrates leadership and professionalism
  • Maintains familiarity with current educational high impact practices and issues
  • Performs administrative tasks, which may include returning phone calls, word processing, filing documentation, or processing email
  • Complies with accounting and financial policies and procedures involving the handling of money and property, as well as other Board policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Three (3) years of related work experience
  • Valid state issued driver’s license
