About the Role

The Director of Community Services will oversee community support services in accordance with state regulations. This role involves assessing participants' service needs, developing and monitoring individualized care plans, supervising Community Support Specialists, and ensuring high-quality, clinically sound documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in assessing participants’ service needs and developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Recovery Plans (IRP) and/or Individualized Program Plans (IPP).
  • Supervise PRP (Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program), TCM (Targeted Case Management), and SE (Supported Employment) services in compliance with COMAR and other regulations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate care meetings and groups for clients to address their care needs.
  • Communicate with clinical staff regarding participant progress and follow agency/county directives.
  • Handle fiscal year planning and financial responsibilities for the program.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records for each case manager, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and Medicaid regulations.
  • Oversee children’s activities, ensuring a safe environment is maintained.
  • Provide supervision, consultation, guidance, and crisis intervention to Community Support and other staff.
  • Conduct group supervision, quality improvement, and in-service trainings for PRP counselors.
  • Perform case intakes, working with referral sources and insurance providers to ensure authorization and verification of services.
  • Participate in team staffings to review cases and collaborate on maintaining standards/certification.
  • Act as a liaison to other department coordinators and administrators at the agency.
  • Communicate regularly with mental health supervisors to integrate services, problem-solve program issues, and champion employment initiatives.
  • Inform administrators of program successes and challenges at least quarterly.
  • Collect and process client outcomes monthly, sharing results with the supported employment team quarterly.
  • Review individual outcomes with practitioners, develop improvement plans, and help set goals.
  • Attend training related to the populations served.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LGPC, LGSW, LCPC, LCSW-C, LCAD) eligible.
  • Two years of relevant direct service and/or supervisory experience working with children and adults with mental health issues.
  • Superior knowledge of PRP, TCM, SE, and Medicaid procedures and guidelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of available resources in the service area for individuals with serious emotional disturbances.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a non-traditional work environment.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and electronic systems such as time punches and medical records.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (must be acquired and maintained once employed).
  • Bilingual in any language is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies.
  • Physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, and hear.
  • Capability to perform basic and light home maintenance activities.
  • Ability to move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds, such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment.
  • Operate office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
  • Ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods.
