About the role

The Community Services Coordinator (Health Advocate) works with team members to develop and operate health and related activities focused primarily on low-income and English-as-a-second language communities. This bilingual (English/Spanish) role requires linguistic competence and cultural competency, with a strong emphasis on community outreach, health education, and advocacy. The Health Advocate leads program strategies, goals, and outcomes within the department’s overall plan, engages community members in developing leadership abilities, and assists in recruiting, training, and overseeing volunteers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred fields: Health or Education). Degrees from another country or equivalent education/experience are valid.
• Work experience related to program assessment, planning, development, and evaluation.
• Driving may be necessary; compliance with state driving laws and proof of driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
• Employment is contingent upon completing a language competency assessment demonstrating Spanish skills within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
• 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting or related position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or training in designated chronic diseases.
• Certification as a Promotora from a reputable organization (e.g., Latino Health Access) upon hire.
• Experience in education, teaching, or working with families and groups.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.77 per hour. The successful candidate’s placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant experience and other applicable factors. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Schedule

This is a part-time position with 8-hour day shifts.
