About the role

This is a FLSA non-exempt position providing assertive support services to clients experiencing significant substance abuse and mental health concerns at the Mohr Center, a residential treatment center for males. The incumbent delivers direct supportive services to individuals with substance use disorder throughout their treatment stay, including monitoring, assessments of integration, social skill development, upholding agency policies and procedures, and maintaining the therapeutic milieu. The role involves engaging, motivating, and supporting ongoing recovery, as well as admitting, monitoring, and documenting individuals admitted to the center.

The position requires staff to remain awake, alert, and available during all duty hours, enforce house rules, follow Mohr Center policies, and handle emergency situations. Case management duties may also be assigned. The incumbent reports to the Director III or designated supervisor and must comply with federal confidentiality laws for alcohol and drug treatment programs, as well as Region Ten policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supportive services to clients with substance use disorder, including monitoring and assessments of integration.
  • Develop and reinforce social skills among clients.
  • Uphold agency policies and procedures and maintain the therapeutic milieu.
  • Engage, motivate, and support clients in ongoing recovery.
  • Admit, monitor, and document individuals admitted to the center.
  • Remain awake, alert, and available during all duty hours.
  • Maintain and enforce house rules and follow Mohr Center policies.
  • Provide coverage in emergency situations.
  • Perform case management duties as needed.
  • Comply with federal confidentiality laws for alcohol and drug treatment programs and Region Ten policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Must obtain First Aid training, CPR certification, and medication management training (provided by Region Ten).
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Certificate of valid personal automobile insurance for business use of a personal car.

Pay

Hourly salary range: $17.37 - $26.06 per hour (Grade 7).
