Community Schools Director
About the role
The Community School Director at Aspire Public Schools will oversee the implementation and supervision of the California Community Schools Partnership Program, focusing on holistic student development through academic, socio-emotional, and health resources. This role involves collaborating with the Principal, School Leadership Team, teachers, and student support staff to integrate community-based services and partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Identify and coordinate academic, socio-emotional, and health resources for students and their families.
- Cultivate and formalize partnerships with community-based organizations and government agencies to enrich the school environment.
- Facilitate communication between various stakeholders to support collaborative decision-making.
- Facilitate expanded health and wellness services, including behavioral and mental health support.
- Support family support services, family engagement initiatives, and attendance interventions.
- Facilitate and support enrichment activities during the school day, after school, and summer.
- Collaborate with the School Leadership Team and Aspire Public Schools' regional and home office staff to track and evaluate programming progress.
- Chair the school’s Community Schools Advisory Committee, ensuring broad representation and active participation from the school community.
- Support the development and implementation of community school programming, including partnerships with current and new community partners.
- Participate in Aspire’s Regional Community Schools Advisory Group, contributing to the development and implementation of school priorities, data analysis, and resource distribution.
Requirements
- Bilingual – Spanish speaking and writing.
- At least 1 year of experience as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant.
- Management experience in a nonprofit, school, or service business.
Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree or successful completion of 48 units of college credit.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree preferred.
