The Community Engagement Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for hands-on sales execution at the community level, including generating new sales leads, converting leads to move-ins, implementing Phoenix sales systems, and developing external business relationships to generate referrals.
Responsibilities
- Account and submit community sales department invoices for processing and payment.
- Understand and manage the department budget, including labor and other expenses, and its impact on the community’s bottom line.
- Provide detailed and accurate weekly and monthly sales and marketing productivity reports, including analysis of critical success factors and industry trends, to the community Executive Director and/or Phoenix senior operations team.
- Manage sales and marketing data, audits, training, analysis, and implementation.
- Maintain a thorough working proficiency of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) lead tracking database and keep all contact records current.
- Ensure inquiry forms are always available at the front desk.
- Ensure qualified leads are entered into the CRM database.
- Complete Marketing Action Plan on a timely basis each month when required.
- Conduct bi-annual competitive market research and provide the regional sales team with data (e.g., rates, apartment sizes, services, and amenities) to complete an accurate ranking and analysis of designated competitors.
- Understand competitive opportunities and threats and present strategic alternatives to the Executive Director and Regional Sales Team.
- Present the company and self in a positive and professional manner.
- Meet monthly with the sales team to review sales and marketing activity, quality assurance, and other key marketing issues.
- Assist in the completion, production, and roll-out of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Educate the community about Phoenix’s unique approach to senior living services.
- Recognize and act on opportunities to market Phoenix Senior Living communities.
- Work in partnership with corporate Marketing Support to ensure new lead-generating activities have appropriate marketing support.
- Provide customer service by responding to corporate phone, mail, or email inquiries and communicating appropriately with the community(s)/Regional Operations Team.
- Positively influence and impact sales activities for the community.
- Ensure occupancy and sales productivity goals are consistently met.
- Meet or exceed standards in sales productivity.
- Conduct tours with prospective residents and their families.
- Personally close new sales in the community.
- Implement, monitor, and promote resident referral programs to generate new referrals.
- Conduct professional outreach for lead generation purposes.
- Maximize occupancy and revenue opportunities for the community.
Requirements
- College degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably in senior housing.
- Previous experience working with the elderly and/or disabled in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.
- Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Windows, PowerPoint, and Excel software.
- Ability to be flexible and work in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to relate positively and professionally to a diverse resident and employee population.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, employees, staff, and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, complete assignments in a timely manner while managing multiple duties and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative, and resourceful in problem-solving.
Physical Requirements
- In an 8-hour workday, associate may stand/walk: 2-4 hours at one time, totaling 4-6 hours/day.
- In an 8-hour workday, associate may sit: 0-2 hours at one time, totaling 2-4 hours/day.
- In an 8-hour workday, associate may drive: 60-120 minutes, 3-4 times a week.
- Associate will support/assist: up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 150 lbs rarely.
- Associate will lift/carry: up to 40 lbs occasionally, up to 70 lbs rarely.
- Associate will use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Associate should be able to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and reach occasionally.
