This is the vision of Circle of Care. We believe that every child and family has the ability to succeed. Our model of care, the Wraparound Philosophy of “It takes a village to raise a child,” is family-driven, culturally competent, and community-based. Using both formal and informal supports, we build on the strengths of each family to develop positive outcomes. We work with youth up to age 21 who live in Passaic County and have complex behavioral health, mental health, substance use, intellectual, and developmental needs, along with their families.
Summary of Position
The role of the Community Relations & Development Intern is to gain experience supporting outreach initiatives, strengthening community partnerships, and increasing awareness of services available to youth and families. This is a temporary, unpaid summer internship intended to provide hands-on learning and professional development. The Intern will work closely with the Community Relations & Development team to assist with outreach efforts, community engagement activities, and communication strategies that promote access to services and resources.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Maintain high integrity while modeling the core values of Circle of Care
- Aid in planning and coordination of community outreach events, workshops, and partnership activities
- Support tabling events, presentations, and public awareness efforts
- Help maintain outreach materials, contact lists, and community resource information
- Aid in creating social media content, newsletters, flyers, and promotional materials
- Conduct basic research on community partners, resources, and engagement opportunities
- Support data entry, attendance tracking, and reporting on outreach efforts
- Help prepare materials for meetings, trainings, and special initiatives
- Provide general administrative support to the department as needed
- Comply with all Agency standards, including accuracy, professionalism, and timeliness of all work
- Attend team meetings and trainings as assigned
Education and Experience
Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree Program, or recent graduate, in a relevant discipline (e.g., communications, marketing, social work, psychology, public health, nonprofit management, human services, or related field)
