Community Relations Specialist
Job Summary
This position supports scope of work in three ADEQ programs: Ombudsman, Tribal Relations, and VESP. The position reports to the Senior Division Administrator and coordinates with SMEs and staff to fulfill the scope of work. It maintains a positive public image through external engagement and is available for remote work within Arizona.
Job Duties
Reviews and tracks constituent inquiries and complaints, coordinates across the agency, builds teams, and facilitates problem-solving. Prepares final responses to close cases.
Engages with Tribes of Arizona and nearby states, coordinates Tribal notifications, collects information for reports, and collaborates with Community Liaisons.
Oversees all aspects of intra-agency Tribal communications and reviews and analyzes company VESP applications and annual progress reports.

Tribal sovereignty and governance
Researching and compiling information
State statutes, rules, and regulations
Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Environmental performance indicators and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, public communication, public relations, or related field
Two years of environmental-related experience or public relations experience in government
