About the Role

The Community Relations Director plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community, and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. This position focuses on developing, maintaining, and improving community outreach efforts to drive move-ins and achieve established occupancy standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve community outreach efforts to drive referrals and move-ins.
  • Identify new and potential referral sources and strategies, including but not limited to:
    • Hospitals and acute care providers
    • Senior housing providers, assisted living, and Alzheimer’s providers
    • Skilled nursing providers
    • Area support organizations
    • Real estate professionals
    • Clergy
    • Social service organizations
    • Trust officers
    • Civic and professional organizations
    • Internal resident population
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Sales & Marketing Director, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, and Regional Marketing Director to develop annual and quarterly networking plans to meet goals for calls, visits, and referrals.
  • Develop and work within an approved budget.
  • Maintain a dynamic database of community contacts and track meeting outcomes.
  • Participate in planning and implementing influencer events to drive referrals and enhance community awareness.
  • Represent the community at professional events to inform others of our capabilities and offerings.
  • Work with the Sales & Marketing Director, Executive Director, and management team to establish effective public relations programs.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the management team and employees to promote achievement, trust, morale, and professionalism.
  • Prepare required reports for the Sales & Marketing Director and Corporate offices, including Quarterly Marketing and weekly sales reports.
  • Review and strategize with the Sales & Marketing Director and Executive Director weekly to ensure effective networking and follow-up.
  • Participate in daily manager’s meetings as needed.
  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures as a member of the management team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Tactful interaction with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
  • Capability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for the position.
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or related work experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in senior housing or healthcare.
  • Valid driver’s license and operable vehicle.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to senior housing and assisted living.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may have direct reports or supervisory requirements.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Tasks may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Physical activities include:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
    • Alternating between standing and sitting.
  • Cognitive requirements:
    • Execute tasks independently.
    • Express yourself clearly and effectively.
    • General computer literacy.
  • Environmental exposure:
    • Ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment.
    • May be exposed to variable temperatures and conditions while off-site.
  • Off-site travel may be required.
