Community Program Assistant
About the role
The Community Program Assistant position is designed to assist in administrative and technical work in support of community programs at the Georgia Cancer Center. This position will assist in assessment, capacity, planning, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of numerous community programs and interventions. Community programs may include prevention work with alcohol, electronic cigarettes, opioids, prescription drugs, suicide, and/or cancer prevention. This work may involve interacting with elementary, middle, and high school students, all ages across the lifespan, organizations such as faith-based, public housing, and the community at large.
Responsibilities
- Schedule project visits. Weekly follow-up with community members. Data collection, entry, and quality control. Maintain project files.
- Lead group sessions with parents and students.
- Absorb and maintain outstanding relationships with community partners.
- Attend meetings with community partners.
- Attending staff training and research meetings.
- Participating in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and community-engaged approaches.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Ability to work independently, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines and exercise good judgment.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Band: B5
Salary Range: $18.85/hourly - $18.92/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
Recruitment Period: 6/1/26 - Until Filled
Conditions of Employment
- All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
- If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check complete for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
- Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
