COMMUNITY PLANNER/HISTORIAN/ARCHEOLOGIST/NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST

Duties

• Review construction, special projects, and shore infrastructure plans for potential impacts on fish and wildlife, endangered or threatened species and their critical habitats, historical sites and wetlands.
• Conduct annual integrated pest management reviews and compliance oversight of the installation program.
• Conduct technical reviews of contractor submittals for environmental restoration program work.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve cultural resource issues.
• Maintain conformance with environmental requirements by implementing and managing the installation environmental management system program.

Requirements

• Conditions of Employment:
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• May require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
• You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

• GS-7: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, including utilizing Natural Resources experience including wildlife identification and control; assisting with preparing US Army Corps of Engineers Joint Permits to support mission; managing pest plans and operations; and identifying and managing wetlands.
• GS-9: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, including utilizing Natural Resources experience including wildlife identification and control; preparing US Army Corps of Engineers Joint Permits to support mission; overseeing pest management plans and operations; and reviewing projects to identify potential natural resources impacts.
