About the role

Puentes is a culturally specific mental health and recovery services program designed to meet the unique needs of Portland's Latino/a/x community. The Community Outreach Worker plays a crucial role in building bridges to healing and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct community outreach and early engagement activities throughout the Portland metro area
  • Build trust and meaningful relationships with Latino/a/x individuals and families
  • Connect community members to behavioral health, recovery, healthcare, housing, and social service resources
  • Provide advocacy, education, support, and resource navigation
  • Support individuals in overcoming barriers to care and achieving personal goals
  • Collaborate with community partners and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services and improve outcomes

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • QMHA-R eligible through MHACBO or CADC-R certification required
  • Knowledge of behavioral health, recovery, and community resources
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the community

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree or higher in health or social service related field of study preferred
  • Registered with MHACBO to meet, at minimum, QMHA-R requirements OR At minimum, CADC-R
  • Experience working with the Latino/a/x culture
  • Current CPR certification prior to start
  • CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and change
  • Working knowledge of behavioral health terminology

Pay

$23.86-$31.67/hr. Final comp will be determined based on relevant experience, education, credentials/licensure, and internal equity.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (Saturday & Sunday Off)
