Community Organizer

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of local organizing strategies, including:
• Meeting with local community partners
• Managing and overseeing key education campaigns
• Identifying new and creative partnership and outreach strategies
• Oversight of community organizing research to identify existing and new business partnerships for growth and expansion
• Develop expertise in our communication & policy goals, policy issues, and key stakeholders.
• Communicate student loan policy basics and how Savi helps borrowers navigate their options to target audiences and stakeholders.
• Lead cross-company collaboration between different teams

Requirements

• 1 year of organizing, electoral, issue or other campaign experience. Recent college graduates welcome.
• Experience with community organizing, preferably in Michigan
• Comfort with self-directed work
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Able and willing to work in a fast-paced work environment
• An interest in and aptitude for working with new technologies and a social-impact start-up
• An interest in the social impact mission of the company
