About the role

You could make a difference in someone’s life every day as a Community Support Specialist, Residential. Within the residential setting, you will assist clients as they learn and practice the skills for independent living.

Responsibilities

  • Help residents prepare meals
  • Practice housekeeping skills
  • Work on interpersonal and coping skills
  • Document clients' progress, success with medication management, and recovery process
  • Collaborate with clients to develop key independent living skills
  • Provide support and guidance in a residential setting
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Passion for mental health advocacy
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Compassion and respect while working in someone’s home
  • Good writing skills and attention to detail
  • On-call for multiple sites

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate and 5 years of supervised clinical experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and 2 years of supervised clinical experience

Skills

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and treatment options
  • Proficiency in computer software and applications

  • Niles: Monday- Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • Skokie: Part-Time Sat & Sun - 2:00pm - 10:30pm
