Community Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Community Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a 108-unit conventional apartment community. This role is responsible for all aspects of property management, including leasing, resident relations, financial oversight, maintenance coordination, and team leadership, while ensuring the property is professionally managed and well maintained.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of a conventional multifamily community, ensuring efficient property performance and exceptional resident service.
- Market and lease apartment homes by conducting tours, presenting property features, processing applications, and executing lease agreements.
- Build and maintain positive resident relationships while responding promptly and professionally to resident concerns and requests.
- Oversee rent collections, monitor delinquent accounts, coordinate collections efforts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Cookordinate maintenance operations, ensuring work orders are completed promptly and vacant units are turned efficiently for new occupancy.
- Perform move-in and move-out inspections, prepare security deposit dispositions, and maintain accurate resident records.
- Maintain knowledge of local market conditions and competitive properties to maximize occupancy and resident retention.
- Complete additional projects and operational initiatives as assigned by the Portfolio Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing a conventional multifamily apartment community.
- Previous experience overseeing all aspects of on-site property operations, including leasing, financial management, maintenance coordination, and resident relations.
- Strong understanding of California Landlord-Tenant Law and Fair Housing regulations.
- Experience supervising on-site staff, vendors, or contractors.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Strong financial aptitude with experience preparing reports, managing budgets, rent collections, and expense control.
- Outstanding communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and property management experience.
- Experience managing communities with 100+ units.
- Experience with property management software such as Yardi, RealPage, AppFolio, or similar platforms.
