About the role
The Community Integration Counselor (CIC) at Community Options, Inc. is responsible for supporting individuals with learning physical, intellectual, emotional, and social life skills. The CIC provides individualized services to help participants manage and overcome difficulties in community living.
Responsibilities
- Support and encourage individuals to increase their independence
- Meet with waiver participants regularly in various settings
- Document individual progress towards community integration
- Aid in building a support network between individuals and the community
- Administer medications and ensure proper documentation
- Coordinate leisure and volunteer opportunities
- Monitor health and medical needs, reporting concerns immediately
- Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of program documentation and billable records
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals
