About the Role
This position supports the Community Health Services Bureau's Health Education Section by planning, developing, implementing, promoting, and evaluating community health education programs. Responsibilities include conducting community needs assessments, developing and disseminating culturally and linguistically appropriate educational materials, and coordinating outreach activities and events to engage diverse populations.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, or Health Science.
- One year of experience planning, developing, implementing, and promoting health education projects.
Notes:
- Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Science, or related behavioral science and two years of relevant experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Educator and Community Health classifications or specialty codes in the Public Health field on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and/or leading chronic disease education classes.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Experience performing medical clerical work.
- Experience working in public or community health.
Licenses and Certifications
Employees in this classification may be required to operate a motor vehicle and must possess a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license.
