Community Food Programs Coordinator

About the role

The Community Food Programs Coordinator supports the daily operations and coordination of ‘Elepaio Social Services’ community food programs, including school and senior pantry initiatives. Under the direction of the Food Distribution Manager, this position assists with food distribution logistics, pantry coordination, inventory management, warehouse operations, and community-based food access efforts. This role serves as a key connection between the organization, pantry sites, volunteers, and community members to ensure food resources are distributed safely, efficiently, and with dignity. The position works within program directives of the funding source, the philosophical framework of the ʻElepaio Social Services Board of Directors, and the existing network of community service providers and natural helpers.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and coordination of community food programs, including school and senior pantry initiatives
• Assist with food distribution logistics and pantry coordination
• Manage inventory and warehouse operations
• Facilitate community-based food access efforts
• Serve as a liaison between the organization, pantry sites, volunteers, and community members

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Ability to safely operate vans, trucks, or delivery vehicles
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record

Qualifications

• Experience in community programs, food distribution, warehouse operations, logistics, or related field preferred
• Knowledge of Native Hawaiian culture and the Waiʻanae Coast community preferred
• Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience preferred
