POSITION OVERVIEW

The Community Engagement Specialist serves as the organization's primary ambassador throughout the Bismarck-Mandan region and surrounding communities. This highly visible role is responsible for expanding community awareness, cultivating donor and volunteer relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and leading community engagement and fundraising initiatives that advance the mission of a growing faith-based nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate is an engaging communicator who enjoys networking, public speaking, event planning, and building lasting relationships throughout the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the organization's primary ambassador by building and strengthening relationships with churches, schools, businesses, healthcare organizations, civic groups, and community leaders throughout the Bismarck-Mandan region.
  • Develop and execute community engagement initiatives that increase organizational awareness, foster volunteer involvement, and strengthen donor relationships.
  • Cook up fundraising campaigns, sponsorships opportunities, donor stewardship activities, community events, and identify new opportunities for community support.
  • Represent the organization through public speaking engagements, networking events, presentations, community meetings, and regional conferences.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and recognize volunteers while encouraging long-term community engagement and participation in organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain CRM records, track donor and community engagement activities, monitor fundraising outcomes, and provide regular reporting on regional outreach efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, fundraising, education, public relations, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in community engagement, donor development, fundraising, business development, volunteer management, or relationship building.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the Bismarck-Mandarn region for meetings and community events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working within a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience planning fundraising or community events.
  • Experience recruiting and coordinating volunteers.
  • Experience developing business or community partnerships.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems.
