Community Donation Manager (Operations Manager)

About the Role

The Community Donation Manager (Operations Manager) is responsible for the overall management and direction of the day-to-day functions of the Community Donation Center, ensuring it is the donation center of choice. This role upholds company standards, regulations, and laws, while promoting brand awareness and developing relationships with local organizations. The manager leads a team of Community Donation Center Ambassadors and is guided by the Savers Vision and Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the Community Donation Center (CDC) is organized, clean, safe, and welcoming, maintaining donation flow, storage, and staging.
• Partners with the Production Manager/Store Manager to manage donation flow from the CDC into the production room.
• Engages with customers and donors to promote Savers' brand in the store and community.
• Ensures accurate weighing and accounting of donations by classification.
• Plans, tracks, and measures donation goals and results.
• Schedules CDC Ambassadors using the CDC Scheduler and Daily Planner, ensuring coverage aligns with expected volume and donor traffic.
• Utilizes branded sign packages and company-approved materials to promote the Savers brand.
• Leverages the Voice of the Customer Program to improve donor satisfaction.
• Performs the duties of the CDC Ambassador as required.
• Leads, directs, and supervises the work of CDC Ambassadors, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Develops a culture of genuine appreciation for donors and donations at the CDC.
• Identifies and develops high-potential team members for supervisory and management positions.
• Delivers a positive donor experience by training, coaching, and role-modeling donor service expectations.
• Continuously assesses donor areas and directs team member activity to ensure standards are met.
• Actively engages with donors to seek feedback and make improvements to the donor experience.
• Educates team members on Savers' brand and business model.
• Promotes awareness of the nonprofit partner and community impact.
• Drives company promotions and grassroots efforts to create community awareness of the CDC and Savers brand.
• Partners with the Sourcing team to lead or assist in Fundrive events.
• Networks within the community to share the Savers story and promote awareness.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Requirements

• High School diploma; post-Secondary degree/diploma preferred.
• Experience managing people preferred.
• Physical ability to frequently lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs, push and pull racks/carts weighing 50-250 pounds, and perform continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, and twisting.
• Dexterity for complex hand-eye tasks, including keyboarding and merchandise handling.
• Ability to read written and electronic documents, product labels, and hear/verbally communicate with management, team members, and customers.
• Willingness to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to navigate a work environment with large industrial machinery, heavy equipment, and moving forklifts.

Pay

Range is $23.40/hour - $31.00/hour
