About the role

The Community Benefits Coordinator position at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista supports the AHEC Department. This is a full-time, benefited position based at the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating community health programs
• Coordinating and following up with patient discharge needs
• Serving as a resource for the Director in developing new programs, evaluating existing initiatives, and preparing narrative reports
• Overarching responsibility for coordinating and implementing all community-based education and prevention activities
• Coordination of curriculum development for community educational programs
• Teaching and facilitating community educational programs and presentations
• Assisting with grant proposal writing
• Evaluation, tracking, and reporting required by program funders

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Accountability and fostering teamwork
• Managing performance, oral and written communication
• Verbal and oral presentation skills

Qualifications

• Health or Social or Physical Science Degree preferred
• 2-4 years of community-based work experience preferred
• Experience in teaching and facilitating parenting classes preferred
• Experience facilitating presentations preferred
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
