Michiana Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time community-focused Peer Support Specialist for our Intensive Outpatient Program.

About the role

A Peer Support Specialist will work to build readiness to change and engage individuals in the surrounding community in a way that respects the person in their environment and serves to reduce stigma.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with individuals requesting support through Connect Marshall County app in a trauma-informed manner that allows for rapport building
  • Connect individuals with Navigators as needed to obtain insurance
  • Connect with community partners to verify available resources and update the app with current information
  • Participate in trainings to continue to gain new skills
  • Attend meetings as required

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Certified Peer Support Professional (CPSP) or Certified Addiction Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC I and CAPRC II) required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Crisis Peer Certification preferred
