Community-Based Response Peer Support Specialist
Michiana Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time community-focused Peer Support Specialist for our Intensive Outpatient Program.
About the role
A Peer Support Specialist will work to build readiness to change and engage individuals in the surrounding community in a way that respects the person in their environment and serves to reduce stigma.
Responsibilities
- Engage with individuals requesting support through Connect Marshall County app in a trauma-informed manner that allows for rapport building
- Connect individuals with Navigators as needed to obtain insurance
- Connect with community partners to verify available resources and update the app with current information
- Participate in trainings to continue to gain new skills
- Attend meetings as required
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- Certified Peer Support Professional (CPSP) or Certified Addiction Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC I and CAPRC II) required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Crisis Peer Certification preferred
