Community-Based DSP

About the Role

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play an important role in helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A) build greater independence and enjoy more meaningful lives, while forming positive, supportive relationships. Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing daily living skills, social and communication abilities, and job readiness competencies
• Assist with personal care and facilitate community engagement
• Support individuals in achieving their personal goals
• Use your own car or agency vehicles to transport individuals to activities (mileage reimbursed at $0.76 per mile; any increase in insurance costs are reimbursed)

Requirements

• 18+ years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license (agency vehicles provided for community outings)
• TB test and physical
• Able to lift 50 pounds & assist with physical supports such as lifting, bending, standing, etc.

Qualifications

Preferred, But Not Required:

• Experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A)
• Experience in direct care, caregiving, behavioral health, or healthcare

Pay

• Starting pay: $17/hour
• $600 sign-on/stay-on bonus
• Additional $1/hour shift differentials for late nights, weekends, and holidays (differentials can stack)
• Opportunities to pick up extra shifts and overtime (time-and-a-half)
