Responsibilities
- Aid Community Associations board members and clients in dispute resolution and fee collection through mediation and arbitration.
- Engage in significant and substantive legal research and writing.
- Guide HOA and COA boards through the practical realities of community management.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to represent clients in complex Community Association disputes.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and craft strategic arguments in high-stakes cases.
- Draft legal documents and motions, attend depositions, argue motions, and manage client communications.
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, with opportunities to first and second-seat trials.
- Drive settlement negotiations and effectively manage multiple cases, ensuring top-notch client service.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active NJ and NY state bar membership.
- 0-3 years of experience in the Community Association law.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent communication, client relations, and negotiation skills.
- Courtroom experience in arbitration, depositions, and motion arguments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of property law and proficiency in Community Association regulations are preferred.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of the iManage Document Management System and Orion is a plus.
