Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Install and configure structured cabling systems.
- Install and service wireless communications equipment, access points, and network hardware.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain security cameras, access control, and other low-voltage systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Perform cable testing, certification, and documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on schedule.
- Travel to customer job sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Communications Technician, Low Voltage Technician, or similar role preferred.
- Experience with fiber optic termination, splicing, and testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation practices.
- Familiarity with networking equipment and basic IP networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot communication and network systems.
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and at varying heights.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Preferred Experience: Mining or industrial facility experience, Fiber optic fusion splicing, Wireless point-to-point and point-to-multipoint systems, CCTV, access control, and VoIP systems, OSHA 10/30, MSHA, or other safety certifications.
