Communications Specialist - Temporary
Temporary, part-time position with the Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC). Proposed start date: August 17, 2026.
About the role
The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) provides swine producer education and outreach based on university research and producer needs. The Communication Specialist will support these efforts by developing educational and outreach materials for a project focused on environmental sustainability in livestock systems.
Responsibilities
- Create infographics, fact sheets, web content, and other communication materials that translate research findings into practical, producer-focused information.
- Work closely with faculty, researchers, and industry stakeholders to communicate scientific information in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner for pork producers and other audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
- Experience with website development and content creation.
- Experience developing short communications, such as infographics and fact sheets.
