Communications Specialist III - Marketing and Communications Dept - On Site Work Schedule

Summary

Under limited supervision, writes, and edits company-wide communications across all mediums in support of organizational goals and objectives. Responsible for editing marketing copy, external and internal communications, presentations, newsletters, white papers, and research matter, while maintaining consistent brand identity.

Responsibilities

  • Strategizes, writes, and edits company-wide communications across all mediums including: speeches, annual report copy, video scripts, print, Internet, Intranet, fact sheets and various other communications, ensuring correct and consistent dissemination of corporate messaging.
  • Copy-edits and proofreads material to ensure quality and corporate standards for a range of media and marketing copy, external and internal communications, presentations, newsletters, white papers, and research matter.
  • Collaborates to maintain consistent brand identity.
  • Acts as project manager for communications and marketing assignments; complete special communications projects.
  • Proactively spots opportunities to communicate to employees and uses sound editorial judgment to determine the internal issues and news that would be of interest to them.
  • PARTNERS WITH INTERNAL GROUPS TO UNDERSTAND COMMUNICATION NEEDS AND DEVELOP CONTENT, DEVELOPING AND DELIVERING COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNICATIONS PLANS FOR INTERNAL BUSINESS PARTNERS.
  • Writes and publishes senior executive correspondence – letters, talking points, and internal announcements.
  • Publishes internal interviews and worthy stories about culture, business strategy, social responsibility efforts, and patient success.
  • Maintains oversight over communications calendars for all internal communications channels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Knowledge of applicable technologies.
    • Knowledge of public relations and mass communication techniques.
    • Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
    • Skill in developing public relations materials.
    • Skill in oral and written communication.
    • Skill in developing internal corporate communications materials.
    • Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
    • Skill in presenting information to executive level management and external audiences.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:
    • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
    • Non-supervisory - Five (5) years of corporate communications and/or public relations experience.
    • An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
  • MINIMUM LICENSURE QUALIFICATION:
    • Requires the use of personal vehicle.
    • Requires proof of insurance and a valid Alaska driver’s license.

Additional Requirements

  • May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule.
  • May be called out to work off-shift in emergency situations.
