Department: Marketing & Communications | Full-Time, Salaried, Non-Exempt | Reports to: Corporate Communications Manager | Location: The Woodlands, TX | Travel: Up to 15%

About the role

The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies that support organizational goals, enhance employee engagement, and strengthen the Beusa Family of Companies’ brand. This role requires a tactful communicator with strong communications experience, exceptional writing skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement internal communication plans that align with business objectives
  • Draft and edit employee communications, including announcements, newsletters, leadership messaging, and intranet content
  • Partner with HR to support change management and employee engagement initiatives
  • Ensure all messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with company and affiliate brand guidelines, while following established approval workflows
  • Support internal communication channels, such as intranet and newsletters, and recommend improvements for effectiveness
  • Assist with external communication strategies, including drafting press releases and public messaging as needed
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development to maintain consistent brand voice across all communications
  • Support with development of organizational newsletter
  • Assist with crisis communication preparation and response as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s)
  • Overtime may be required and in-person, predictable attendance in The Woodlands, TX
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required; employment contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3-year U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered
  • 3+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or internal communications
  • Strong working knowledge of AP Style
  • Demonstrated experience in media relations and PR strategy
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrates high professional integrity and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and communicate tactfully while maintaining strict professional boundaries
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging messaging
  • Experience with SharePoint or other intranet platforms and digital newsletter platforms
  • Experience navigating corporate/affiliate structures and applying brand guidelines across business units
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience with crisis communications preferred

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Overtime as needed)

  • Employees are frequently required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, and squat or kneel
  • Works primarily indoors, sitting for prolonged periods at a desk while typing on a computer
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
  • When required to visit a wellsite, may be exposed to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio levels up to 85 dB, inclement weather, and extreme temperatures (both hot and cold)
  • When visiting a pad site, must wear company-mandated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Category 2 fire retardant coveralls or Category 2 shirt/jeans combination, safety hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and designated safety gloves according to role
  • Must strictly adhere to all safety policies, including the Companies' Life Saving Rules and procedures at all times
  • Must be able to independently lift 25 lbs
  • Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity
