Pay

The good-faith pay range for this role is $37,700 - $44,500 per year. Actual compensation may vary and may be above the posted range based on factors such as a candidate's skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.

Schedule

This is a year-round position for full-time undergraduate students. You must be available to work a minimum of 18 hours per week, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during school sessions, and up to 40 hours per week between school sessions (spring break, summer break, and winter break).

Responsibilities

  • Exercise creativity and create engaging content for a wide range of projects to support the communities engaged by Jefferson Lab.
  • Assist in the development of strategic communications plans.
  • Engage in a wide range of communications efforts while learning the ins and outs of the Communications Office.
  • Assist the Internal Communications Specialist with projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute written content for internal and external communications channels, including social media and feature articles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Full-time college student majoring in Communications, Public Relations, or a related major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Skills

  • Ability to write lively, accurate, and interesting non-fiction content.
  • Can work effectively individually and with a team.
  • Willing to learn and apply new skills.
  • Basic mastery of Microsoft software products.
