About the role
This internship is designed to provide students with hands-on learning experience in social media and digital communications.
Responsibilities
- Learn and apply best practices for writing, editing, and proofreading social media content under the guidance of the Social Media Coordinator
- Affiliate with drafting and preparing social media posts for review, focusing on tone, clarity, accuracy, and brand voice
- Conduct basic research to support social media and communications projects as part of skill development
- Observe and support the planning and maintenance of the social media content calendar, gaining exposure to content strategy and scheduling processes
- Monitor social media platforms for public questions and comments and assist with documenting engagement trends, under supervision
- Support the collection and organization of social media analytics and engagement data as a learning exercise in digital reporting
- Maintain organized files and records related to content drafts, calendars, and reports
Qualifications
- Second-year college student or recent graduate (2 years or less) in communications, marketing, or a related program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Learning, Professional Development & Compliance
- Participate in instructional discussions and hands-on learning related to digital communications, audience engagement, and campaign evaluation
- Complete assigned projects designed to support educational growth in communications and marketing
- Follow department procedures and workplace policies while developing professional communication and organizational skills
