Responsibilities
- Develops, manages, and executes strategic communications, digital content, social media, and public-facing messaging that advances the Museum’s mission, exhibitions, programs, visitor engagement, marketing and brand identity.
- Engages in building the Museum’s audiences through social media and digital platforms, including writing, editing, and content development and strategy.
- Works alongside the Director of Marketing and Communication to develop marketing materials such as bi-weekly print and radio ads, video content, membership communications, quarterly newsletters, bi-weekly e-blasts, social media initiatives, and provides essential content to the website.
- Maintains and evolves the Museum’s institutional voice across digital, print, media, and social platforms.
- Develops and manages digital initiatives, including social media platforms, paid digital advertising, Google AdWords, etc.
- Provides a proactive role in writing and reviewing website content and updating as necessary.
- Drafts and distributes listings of exhibitions and events to local and national media contacts.
- Maintains and updates local and national media contact lists.
- Tracks and maintains press coverage archives.
- Drafts, proofs, and edits press releases and other press materials.
- Obtains estimates and coordinates with vendors as needed.
- Aids in the development of other marketing materials, including membership communications and quarterly newsletters, along with general administrative support.
- Manages multiple communications projects from concept through completion, including timelines, content drafts, approvals, and publication.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5-7 years of digital/social media, and public relations and/or marketing experience.
- Prior successful experience with digital communication tools (email campaigns, online calendars, social media scheduling software, PR tracking/coverage, digital media creation, MS Office Suite, Photoshop, etc.).
- Experience with management, content development, and execution of social media initiatives, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Google, etc.
- Excellent personal and organizational skills, strong ability to multi-task, and excellent communication, public relations, and written communication skills.

Location and Commute

- Ability to perform merchandising tasks and lift 25 lbs. occasionally.
