COMMUNICATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Duties & Responsibilities
- Donor Engagement & Stewardship Support with donor stewardship, prospect management, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database management.
- Cook up donor acknowledgment and recognition efforts, including thank-you correspondence.
- Coordinate prospect research to identify and qualify new funding opportunities.
- Fundraising Operations & Events Support fundraising campaigns and special events, including guest lists, event materials, logistics, and post-event follow-up.
- Prepare reports, and fundraising materials as needed.
- Maintain accurate donor records and track fundraising activity in CRM database.
- Aid with gift processing, reporting, and compliance with financial and departmental procedures.
Grants Management Support
- Support grant tracking, proposal calendars, reporting deadlines, and grant documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals, reports, and supporting materials.
- Conduct foundation research and help maintain grant records and prospect pipelines.
Administrative Support
- Participate in planning meetings, strategy discussions, and special projects.
- Perform general administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; ideally in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit administration, or related experience preferred. Experience with donor databases/CRMs (GiveSmart), event support and grant writing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database systems; GiveSmart experience preferred. Ability to interact and complete assignments in a manner sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds or more. Required to commute to other agency locations as needed.
