About the Organization
The Innovation Lab exists within the ETEN alliance to accelerate Bible translation by taking strategic risks, testing untested approaches, and advancing exploratory initiatives. Its vision is to support ETEN and the Bible translation community in making God’s Word accessible to all people, focusing on languages and communities most at risk of missing the All Access Goals by 2033. The Lab analyzes progress data, tests emerging approaches, and helps scale effective solutions.

About the Role
The Communications Specialist & Writer delivers communication assets that increase awareness of innovative Bible translation approaches across the ETEN alliance. The role focuses on translating complex ideas into practical, accessible stories that equip partners to accelerate global Scripture access.
Responsibilities
- Research complex topics and synthesize insights into clear, informative content across various formats.
- Identify and craft compelling stories that inspire adoption of emerging Bible translation methods.
- Write, edit, and proofread content, including blog posts, email newsletters, case studies, website pages, internal reports, and training materials.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and external partners to support review and approval workflows.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and tone while applying writing best practices for diverse audiences.
- Assist with publishing, organizing, and maintaining communication assets across digital platforms and resource libraries.
- Work comfortably in a faith-based environment and interact with partners in sensitive contexts.
- Support additional communications projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
- Travel occasionally to gather stories, interviews, photography, and other content from partners and field projects.

- Strong storytelling instincts, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to respectfully representing diverse language communities.
- Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, internal teams, and external partners.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn complex Bible translation concepts and the work of the ETEN alliance.
- Self-motivated, mission-driven, and humble, with a positive attitude and strong sense of ownership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in content writing or communications; experience in a nonprofit or ministry setting is a plus.
