About the Role

Mount Vernon Nazarene University seeks a full-time (9-month) Communication Sciences and Disorders Faculty Member for its CSD Program on the Mount Vernon main campus, beginning Fall semester 2026. Rank is open.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the traditional undergraduate CSD program
• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of Hunter Hall Speech and Hearing clinic as Clinic Coordinator
• Provide clinical instruction including direct supervision of therapy sessions, scheduling and conducting weekly meetings with student clinicians, semester start-up preparation and wrap-up tasks, reviewing and providing feedback on lesson plans and clinical reports
• Advise students majoring in CSD, ensuring their academic progress meets requirements set by the institution, and work with students to encourage professional development
• Support departmental efforts for continuous improvement of programs
• Serve the University through committee participation

Qualifications

• Evangelical Christian statement of faith, experience, and mission fit
• Personal commitment to Jesus Christ
• Understanding and alignment of the heritage, doctrine, and practices of the Church of the Nazarene
• Doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field highly preferred or willingness to pursue a doctoral degree
• Minimum of Master's in Speech-Language Pathology required
• Active license in Speech-Language Pathology from the Ohio Board of Speech-language Pathology and Audiology
• Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience post master's degree; supervisory experience preferred
• Evidence of scholarly potential and commitment to quality academic instruction within higher education
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with others
• Desire to help students succeed in the university setting with strong connectivity to college student needs
