Communication Representative

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls, pages, and messages through the hospital switchboard
• Direct communications to the appropriate departments, providers, and on-call staff
• Prioritize urgent requests and support timely communication during emergencies
• Aid patients, visitors, and team members with questions and general information
• Maintain accurate contact lists, on-call schedules, and communication records
• Troubleshoot basic telecommunications issues and report system concerns
• Cover emergency preparedness, incident command, and disaster response activities as needed
• Contribute ideas that improve communication processes and service efficiency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Experience as a secretary, receptionist, or customer service in a busy public office is preferred
