Commodity Trade Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Cook up and orchestrate transactions between Front Office, Clients, and Vendors.
• Manage trade control activities to ensure smooth transfer and release of title documentation.
• Handle daily inventory management and reconcile physical commodity movements.
• Create ticket applications and manage inventory, AP, AR, and cost accrual entries.
• Exercise and apply title documents like bills of lading, scale tickets, and warehouse receipts.
• Authorize and approve vendor invoices and supporting documentation for physical commodities.
• Create and dispatch commercial invoices. Process settlement checks for supplier and client approvals.
• Formulate and process pre-payment advances. Handle daily communications with customers, vendors, truckers, and warehouses.
• Create overfills, underfills, and washes on contracts. Conduct monthly inventory reconciliations and adjustments.
• Maintain and escalate aging payables and receivables. Communicate with management and brokers on outstanding issues.
• Resolve customer payment discrepancies. Maintain orderly records of reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant commodity trade experience.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to assess risk and problem-solve with urgency.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Passion to learn and expand trade knowledge in unfamiliar product lines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Position Purpose

This role ensures efficient and effective execution of StoneX Commodity Solutions' transactions, focusing on contract performance, inventory control, and risk mitigation.

Business Segment Overview

The role operates within StoneX Commodity Solutions, a segment of the broader StoneX Group, which encompasses four business segments: Corporate, Retail, Institutional, and Payments.

Working Environment

The position requires a 4-day in-office work schedule with one day from home.
