Commodity Marketing Internship

About the role

The Summer Marketing Intern works alongside the Marketing team to gain hands-on experience in grain and dry bean marketing, customer engagement, and cooperative operations. Through mentorship and structured learning experiences, the intern will develop an understanding of commodity markets while supporting marketing initiatives and wheat harvest operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of grain and dry bean markets
• Learn grain hedging and balancing
• Assist with wheat testing during harvest
• Weigh trucks in and out
• Research and prepare morning grain market comments
• Create commodity marketing-focused promotional content
• Support grower engagement and customer satisfaction initiatives through grower visits and outreach
• Participate in cross-department learning experiences
• Complete a capstone project and present it to Cooperative Elevator leadership

Education and Experience

• College junior or senior pursuing an agriculture-related degree
• Interest in grain marketing and cooperative operations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Professional demeanor
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation

Mileage will be reimbursed for approved business travel.
