Commodity Manager

About the role

As a Commodity Manager, you will develop and lead sourcing strategies for Americas Plastic, Rubber, Gasket, and Resin direct commodities in a global environment. Strategies will support supply chain initiatives including cost containment, regionalization, trade working capital improvement, timely delivery, and quality. Strategies will need to be communicated clearly to large groups.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a direct material sourcing strategy to improve flexibility and supply assurance.
• Forecast containment and inflation projects for current and future years.
• Establish goals to improve trade working capital with increased payment terms, lower inventory, and shorter lead times.
• Develop a capacity and regionalization plan for each part of the commodity.
• Establish agreements with suppliers.
• Perform electronic sourcing bid events.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance (PPM).
• Effectively communicate, lead meetings, make presentations, and use tact and professionalism at all times by using core competencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience.
• Strong project management skills.
• A strategic-oriented individual that achieves timely results.
• Ability to review processes and provide feedback on how to improve them.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and charts.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time (primarily in North America).

Preferred Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience.

Schedule

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. You will start on-site 5 days a week for approximately 6 months to get up to speed and learn the role. Once comfortable, you can transition to a hybrid work schedule. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration-first mindset, adjusting hybrid days based on business needs.

Greater Miami Valley Area (Sidney, OH)

Our facility is located in Sidney, OH, conveniently near Dayton, Troy, and Columbus. The area offers low costs of living, excellent school systems, and low crime rates, creating a family-friendly environment. Sidney features a newly renovated campus with 1M square feet of manufacturing floor and 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the HVACR Americas business unit, employing approximately 1600 people supporting various business functions.
