About the role

Our Global Markets business offers sales and trading services, including research, to institutional clients across fixed‑income, credit, currency, commodity, and equity businesses. The division covers securities and derivative products in both primary and secondary markets. The Commodities Summer Analyst Program provides formal training and rotations through commodity desks such as structuring/origination, sales, oil, natural gas, power, and investor products, giving interns the opportunity to work across both sales and trading functions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain client relationships by matching our services to client needs, interacting with portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders, and relaying investment research, market information, and marketing ideas (Sales focus).
  • Support trading activities by reading financial publications, shadowing traders, communicating with sales, generating and monitoring trade ideas, and other related tasks (Trading focus).
  • Work on commodity‑related transactions, including deal valuation and structuring, and participate in internal and external discussions to develop structured deal solutions for customers.
  • Assist market strategists and traders in integrating fundamental points of view with trading strategies.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop marketing presentations, build models, assimilate historical data, and generate reports that generate interest in commodities and help develop new business.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between November 2027 and August 2028.
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA preferred.
  • Demonstrated academic aptitude, quantitative skills, strategic and creative thinking, and strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Superior analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective both as an individual contributor and as a team member.
  • Personal attributes such as integrity, attention to detail, assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, and team focus.
  • Strong interest in global financial markets, the commodities sector, and complex structured products.
  • Knowledge of financial derivatives and global energy markets.
  • Background in accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or programming is a plus.
