Commissions Accountant

For our client, a leader in the Information Technology space, we are seeking a Commissions Accountant to own compensation, benefits, and rewards programs that help attract, retain, and motivate talent at scale. You will partner with sales leadership, HR centers of excellence, and cross-functional stakeholders to align talent priorities with commercial execution. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen pay practices, improve program governance, and create more consistent outcomes across the organization within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Administer the commissions accounting process, including accruals, capitalization, and reporting
• Calculate, validate, and report commissions for the global sales team
• Collaborate with Sales Operations, Payroll, and Revenue Accounting for accurate commission payouts
• Help implement and maintain commission systems
• Support audits by providing commissions-related documentation
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls in commission processes
• Interpret accounting guidance for new compensation plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 5+ years of relevant accounting and/or commissions operations experience
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606) and SaaS commission practices
• Experience in a high-growth tech or SaaS company
• Familiarity with NetSuite and commission platforms like Spiff, Xactly, or CaptivateIQ
• Strong Excel and Office/Google Suite skills
• Proven ability to work independently and within a team

Pay

$102,000 – $141,000 annually
